Here is a print cover that I designed for Print Magazine in April of 2009. Print Magazine has a student competition to design a cover for sustainability every year. So my main idea was to just show a clothes line and use the slogan, "Back to our Roots".

Ming Lee and the Magic Tree

This is my poster design for the Johnson County Community College theatre department. We got assigned one of the school plays that JCCC is going to put on in the next year and design a poster for them to promote it.

I got Ming Lee and the Magic Tree. It is a childrens play based in China. My inspiration for this poster was Highlights Magazines Hidden Pictures. So I drew a tree the best I could and within the trunk of the tree are the hidden pictures from the story. As a bonus I had my brothers girlfriend write the title in Chinese for me. I think that added a lot to it.

In the end my poster didn't get chosen but the good news is, that it was between mine and one other. So at least I know I was close.... I still want to try to make it better of course.

Baby Announcements

Here are 3 different birth announcements that I was designing for a friend of mine. I gave them multiple options to choose from. They ended up selecting parts from each design. I have not yet completed this announcement for them. The baby in the pictures is not their baby! It was just a test. So I am still waiting for the pictures of their baby.

Then the final product will NOT just be a digital image. I am going to construct it myself with 3D objects, ribbon and other scrapbook materials. Well I finish it, I will photograph it and post it.

I love love love doing stuff like this. It's too bad we don't get assigned to do things like this and wedding announcements in school. I want to do this on the side. So I need to build up a collection of all different samples to show potential clients. The problem with that is, i just don't have the photographs of babies to make a lot of these.... So if you need any made or have pictures you'd like to donate for me to use to make my sample book that would be awesome.

Grand Avenue Temple

Here is a flyer I did for Grand Avenue Temple for a benefit concert they were having. It was called 4 Bands | 4 Hours | 4 Others. So I really want to play up the 4's. I added the texture to give it a grunge feel and to spice it up and make it look hip. I am really happy with the way it turned out. I also got the chance to do the program for the event too.

Sorry about the picture of the program. It's hard to read since it's so small. The top 2 pages are upside down because the program was an 8.5 X 11 folded in both directions to make it 4 pages. But you get the idea.

My First Post

Hey everyone. Thanks for visiting my new blog! Hopefully I can keep you up to date with what's going on with me!

Just so you know, I am updating this site with new and old work combined. So the projects that I post are not in order in which I did them...
